We were lucky enough this week to sit down with a MyWorkChoice employee, Kaleb M., that is also enlisted in the Army National Guard. He has been serving for one year and plans to serve for many more. He shared with us his story, and we are excited to share it with you. Below are his words.
I started working at MyWorkChoice while I was in high school, around February 2020. It was a job that let me balance my school schedule and make money. I decided to enlist in the army when I was in high school. I always wanted to serve the country and it just seemed like the right choice after graduating.
Working at MyWorkChoice has been really helpful to me because of the flexibility. This was especially the case since I had to take some time off for basic training. I was able to chat with one of the recruiters using the app and let them know that I was planning on not working for a few months, and it was no problem at all; which was a big relief.
When I came back from serving, all I had to do was send a chat and let them know that I was ready to work again. Seriously, it was as simple as that. I didn’t have to explain anything to them and they didn’t ask any questions. I didn’t have to apply again, I just had to say, “Ok, I am ready to pick up shifts again, let’s go!”
The week after I came back to town and was ready to work it only took around 2-3 days to set up my next shift. The time was little to nothing which I appreciate especially because I was just ready to start working again.
